we raised awareness of youth's quality of life in metro vancouver.

Youth Vital Signs needed to be brought to the web, and we developed a concept "check the pulse of metro Vancouver" that cut right to the heart of the matter.

The Vancouver Foundation is an organization dedicated to affecting lasting change in BC communities. Youth Vital Signs is their annual youth report card on life in the Vancouver area. Make was tapped to develop the strategy, concept and execution of materials to present the findings of the youth vital signs report card. The interactive and print versions of the report card centred on our concept and literally visualized the survey data as  if we were looking at the pulse line of vancouver. For the digital version we developed a unique experience with a seamless horizontal scroll along a continuous pulse line. You can interact with data points along the pulse line that provide digestable snippets from the overall findings of the report card. The new site is fully responsive and built using HTML5 and a custom JS application which handles all of the page transitions. For this project we realized that the large visuals and horizontal scrolling would not work well on mobile devices and we opted to create a unique experience specifically for mobile that is more streamlined and uses less imagery to optimize page load times.
